Earlier in the week I made this card. Where did the inspiration come from? I had one of many long days this past week. To unwind and get a refreshing perspective I was reading one of my favorite authors - Epictetus. He was a Greek Philosopher from 60 a.d to 120 a.d. Great insights into why people are who they are and how to interact with them without losing yourself.
Well I had been mulling over several designs; some even ended in the recycle bin. Yes, they were that bad! But then it hit me, make a card with a book on it! They're out there, some gorgeous ones in fact! So in honor of Epictetus, I made a card.
"From my garden ... From my heart" is such an appropriate title for this. Don't we all plant seeds through life and watch them blossom into wonderful things/beings - family, friends, pets, etc. Hey what can I say, this author is exceptionally uplifting!
Onto a lighter note - I was traveling along reading blogs yesterday and saw a wonderful idea. Dare I say it? Yes I read lots of non-Stampin' Up blogs! The inspiration is astounding and I love converting the ideas using Stampin' Up products. Jane Johnson and Camilla, this one's for both of you!
The packaging is clear transparency around the candle with a top and bottom made. Taking two strips of coordinating card stock, use the Eyelet Border punch. Layer them and sponge ink on top layer. I adhered the lower trim right to the transparency to stabilize the bottom.
Using the new Jumbo Flower punch, I created t
The gift card is made using the same items, Shimmer Mist and Garden From the Heart stamp.
Now for the Blog Candy, I am giving this candle set away! I'll be drawing the winner using Random.org on February 7th at noontime EST. Leave me a comment telling me what inspires you when you've had a particularly stressful day. Please make sure your email address is included so I may notify the winner immediately. Until then, have a wonderful week. Spring is getting closer!

What a beautiful gift!
On a stressful day I am inspired when I sit down at the computer
and go through my e-mail and see all the wonderful designs from the LNS. It is amazing and I enjoy it so much. It truly inspires me.
Actually all my inspiration comes from my "mood" for that day. I love to do "different" things when creating a card or scrapbooking page -- using non-typical mediums. Of course, this is when I am NOT doing samples for classes -- then I have to put my "reserved" hat on and think more "in the box." Thank you for offering blog candy -- your candle is beautiful and I have never had one before.

The candle is pretty. Please enter me in the drawing. Sherry
When I've had a stressful day....I usually take a 15 minute nap! Then...I'll go to my stamp room and take out a new unassembled set. By the time I've finished putting it together, I ready to stamp. I just pull out a color randomly, and pull out scraps to coordinate. I don't demand anything of myself except to PLAY. Sometimes my best work comes when I am not trying to do anything in particular! It's because I'm having FUN...and relaxing. It's like going down a road with unexpected turns and finding treasures along the way.

Your candle is beautiful and I love your two tone flower. I have those flowers using some of our dsp, aren't they fun to make? Reading is such a stress reliever--it can take you to so many places. I really enjoy books about history and the past! Thanks for the chance to win--have a great week.

Love the candle set! My inspiration usually comes from all my LNS emails, from the cattys or from clothing colors in my 2 closets. Congratulations, it's gorgeous! I would be honored to win this beautifull creation!

How beautiful the flower is and I just love the candle and holder. Tremendous job. What inspires me when I have had a stressful day is to come home and make a cute card or flower. It calms me and makes me forget everything except what I am doing.
Beautiful combo Karen. I just love this flower with the pearl.
Wow, this is a beautiful candle set , and I don't have that stamps set, so I would love to have it. Thanks so much for sharing. I am inspired by nature, my family (unless they are the ones stressing me out, lol) I love to take a walk, calm down some then come home and create.

what a pretty project! TFS and congratulations for being one of the featured blogs on Kelly's daily blog finds!
Hi Karen,
Inspiration on a stressful day....many, many things including playing with kitties and watching them reciprocate with joy, surfing my stamping pals blogs and getting new ideas for old sets and tools, tossing lots of scraps, die cuts, punch pieces on the stamping table and seeing what I can come up with using only what's in front of me. And of course walking in the moonlight and gazing at the stars and breathing deep the piney forests around me. In the past I would have added walking on the beach and seeing myriad shapes in the stones and driftwood washed up on the beach but sadly I'm now too far from the coast to make that feasible. I think of it though everytime I read your blog (love the lighthouse!). Thanks for sharing your own inspiration and I'm crossing my fingers random.org likes my number - LoL!
Hugs from a sister stamper and reader of the classics.
I would say that I get my inspiration when I feel none from ads in the paper they give me color ideas and make me look in another direction that I may not go in otherwise. Hugs and happy stamping Lori Watson email:www.postal_mom_2000@yahoo.com
